Ways to Fix Your Clock Is Ahead Error in Windows 7

Chrome is continuously improving, but sometimes it causes problems when being used on a computer. If you encounter an error message Clock is Ahead Error when visiting a website, don't worry. I will show you how to fix the problem in this post. Chrome generally displays this error when the time and date settings on your PC are incorrect. However, other factors may also contribute to this error.

In the following sections, you'll learn how to fix the "Your clock is ahead" error in Chrome.

1. FIX INCORRECT DATE AND TIME ON YOUR PC

Security certificates ensure your privacy and security online. Chrome may not be able to verify the website's security certificate if the date on the device (mobile or PC) is incorrect. This is another reason you see the "Time has moved ahead" error on your computer screen.

Changing the date and time of your computer will solve this issue.

Step 1: First, right-click your computer's taskbar's Date and Time section.

Step 2: Choose Set Date/Time from the drop-down list.

Step 3: You can disable "Set time automatically" by clicking "Change" in the "Manually set time and date" section.

Step 4: Enter the correct time information to continue setting the system time.

For time synchronization, you will need a connection to the Internet.

2. CLEAR BROWSER COOKIES & CACHE

It is possible for Chrome to get (incorrect) time and date information from temporary files that store inaccurate or outdated calendar and time information (cached images and cookies). These files should be deleted in order to prevent Window 7 from reporting "Your clock is ahead" errors. You may solve this issue by deleting these temporary files which will cause Chrome to retrieve date and time information from your computer.

3. REPLACE CMOS BATTERY

Chrome still shows time errors after you have cleared cookies and cache and synchronized your PC with Windows' time-server, so you might need to replace your PC's CMOS battery. If that doesn't fix the problem, you may need to replace your PC's serial port interface module.
